Alessandro completed a three year diploma course at the British School of Shiatsu-do and soon after he gained a diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Therapeutic massage. Fascinated by the oriental approach to health, he attended other courses in Thai yoga massage, Qi Gong meditation, movement and massage, and Chong Mai Channel release, which is the eastern equivalent of our Cranio Sacral therapy. He recently qualified as a Structural Bodywork Therapist with Kinesis UK, one of the leading Structural Integration schools.

Having competed in martial arts for many years and having a passion for rock and snow climbing Alessandro was able to experience firsthand the results of injury and understand the importance of a better aligned body. This also gave him an understanding of which treatments can be applied effectively to individual circumstances.

Alessandro offers two types of treatment: Therapeutic massage and Structural Bodywork. His massage treatments, developed over 10 years of practice, incorporate a blend of techniques. Depending on the individual’s needs, they can vary from being very relaxing, calming and nurturing, to dynamic, firm and specific.

Structural Bodywork focuses on the relationship between the various segments of the body and how misalignment in one part of the body can cause a compensation process that results in discomfort and/or pain in other areas. This type of treatment works in a very specific way by manipulating the tissue that holds us together (myo-fascia/muscle-connective tissue). Structural bodywork is particularly effective in relieving chronic pain, back pain, sport and domestic related injuries, problems arising from pregnancy and premenstrual syndrome, as well as many other conditions. If used in a preventative way, the benefits are numerous: they include better posture, effortless movement and increased energy.
